How To Back & Future Date Posts

Backdating

Backdating is a useful technique if you are migrating news, meeting or event history.  Just go into the publish date field in the page / posts properties panel on the right hand side in the edit screen.

Select a date that is past in the date picker that appears.

Then click update.

Future Dating

Another term for future dating is "scheduling" a page or post.  This is useful if you would like to bulk create posts and trickle their release, or maybe you have an alert that needs to go live during vacation, etc. Follow the same instructions as above, but pick a date in the future.

Then click save/update as you normally would.  The status will change to "scheduled".
