How to delete/restore a post

Deletion

There are two places where you can "delete" a post. I use "delete' in quotation marks because until you empty the trash, deleted items are not truly deleted. (except for the media library, there delete really means delete).

1. Delete a single item from the dashboard

When in the dashboard view of a page or post type, you can hover on the item and click "trash" in red.

2. Delete in bulk from the dashboard

If you check off multiple items in the dashboard view, you can delete them in bulk by clicking the trashcan icon.

you will then be asked if you want to trash them (which can be recovered) or go directly to delete permanently (which is final and cannot be recovered without restoring an entire website backup).

3. Delete a single item from the edit screen

After clicking "edit" you do have the option to delete the item by clicking the "move to trash" red button in the page properties panel on the right side of the page.

Restoring Deleted Items

From the dashboard, click on the "trashed" items view.

Hover on the item you want to recover and select "restore."
