The Media tab is where you will find all your multimedia items: Images, videos, documents, PDFs, and audio files all live here. You can organize content into folders, make subfolders, and tag things for directories.
There is an file size upload limit of 100mb. Please keep in mind that the "heavier" images are, the longer they may take to load on a page. As a general guideline, try to keep images under 1mb.
Images
You can upload images to the Media Library from the Dashboard or when you are adding an image to a page. Please note that uploading images larger than 2mb is neither recommended nor necessary to have nice looking images of size and quality.
Upload Images
Go to Media in the Dashboard
- Click on Add New
- Drop a file from your computer or click on Select Files, search for and click on the image you want to upload, and click on Open
- The image will appear in the Media Library. Note assets will appear in the Media Library by most recently uploaded.
Editing Images
Although there is an option to edit images, we strongly recommend not using them. We recommend editing images (adjusting resolution and size) before uploading to the Media Library.
Alternative Text
Images need alternative text to ensure your site passes ADA compliance. Once an image is uploaded to the Media Library, click on the image, then type in a short description of the image in the Alternative Text section.

Document Files
You can upload Word documents or PDF files. While we know that meeting PDFs can be very large, Adobe Acrobat Writer offers very easy ways to optimize PDF file sizes for the web. Doing this prior to the upload of large documents is strongly recommended for user downloading ease as well as to ensure your file does not exceed file size limits.
Upload a Document
Go to Media in the Dashboard
- Click on Add New
- Drop a file from your computer or click on Select Files, search for and click on the document you want to upload, and click Open
- The document will appear in the Media Library. Note assets will appear in the Media Library by most recently uploaded.
Audio & Video Files
While you can upload and store audio and video files on your site, we do not recommend it. Services such as vimeo and youtube were designed to host these sorts of files for a better user experience. We recommend embedding the files with a youtube or vimeo player and hosting on one of those platforms so that users can watch or listen to files while the files continue to buffer. Hosting it on the site would mean that your user has to download the whole file before accessing it, which is neither modern, nor practical. To embed a video which is hosted elsewhere, use the youtube embed block.
Media Folders
You can organize your assets by folder. You can create folders and subfolders. The folders do not impact their url so you can reorganize as needed.

Add a Folder
Go to the Media Library in the Dashboard
- Click on New Folder
- Type the name of the folder, then click Save
Add a Subfolder
- Click on the folder you want a subfolder in
- Click on New Folder
- Type the name of the subfolder, then click Save
Organize Assets
- Click on the asset you want to organize to a specific folder
- Scroll to the bottom on the right side of the asset
- Next to the FileBird folder, click on the dropdown menu
- Select the folder you want the asset in
- Click the red x button on the top right
Another way to organize your assets is by simply dragging the asset from the Media Library section over to the folder you want it in. Once the folder is highlighted, release the mouse to drop it in.
